    Probably the best café in Ely. It has great lattes and pastries. Northern Grounds also has a very fun energy and would be a great place to do some work or hang out. Feels like a café you would find in a big, trendy city instead of up in little Ely. I highly recommend!

    Nicely decorated interior space and the barista was very friendly. Too bad we were here for beer and moved on over to the bar area.

    Bartender ignored us because he was busy chatting with a customer. Took about a whole minute before he decided we were worth his time and came over with his arms crossed.

    Was going to type a long narrative of our overall experience with him but to cut to the chase, the bartender was not helpful at all as we were trying to figure out what beer they had available.

    He proceeded to interact happily with other customers including the one other customer whom he was conversing with initially. Not sure what we did wrong or if he was offended by something but I cut our orders to one beer each.

    As we were leaving, he continued to reach out and be extremely friendly with other patrons but not a word to us. So strange. The place wasn't exactly busy so guess we won't be stopping by at the bar side of this establishment again.

    The redeeming qualities were they have a small but interesting selection of beer and the coffee smelled good.

    Great gem in Ely for a cup of coffee!!! And an amazing beer and wine selection. Several Minnesota beers on tap!! Come and warm up, grab a cup and a muffin. Try the pistachio! It was to die for!

    Great spot to warm up and have a nice glass of good wine, original and delicious cocktails or signature beer. Enjoyed it very much. Will absolutely return! Great laid back atmosphere and service
